Fitlock FAQ

How do I contact Fitlock?

Start a chat on our support page, or email us at hello@fitlock.io. We read everything.

Is Fitlock free?

Yes. The free tier lets you run one active schedule that blocks up to two apps or websites behind a single goal. The goal types available for free are step count, wheelchair pushes, challenge steps and push-ups.

Fitlock Pro removes those limits: more schedules, more apps, allowlist mode (block everything except the apps you choose), every goal type, and the ability to combine goals with AND so more than one has to be met. Pro also unlocks Strict Mode, which removes the ability to take a break or switch off or delete a running schedule. The goal is the only way back in.

See pricing for details.

How do I cancel my subscription to Fitlock Pro?

Firstly, if there is anything we can do to improve the service to keep you as a customer, please let us know by emailing us at hello@fitlock.io

If you would still like to cancel your subscription, you can do this by:

  • Going to the App Store app

  • Tap on your profile

  • Go to ‘Subscriptions’

  • Tap on ‘Fitlock’

  • Tap on ‘Cancel Subscription’

  • Tap on ‘Confirm’

Blocking doesn't seem to be working

If apps aren’t blocking when they should, try these steps in order:

1. Force close Fitlock

Follow the steps here to force close Fitlock

2. Restart your device

Turn your iPhone off and on again. Steps here.

3. Reset Screen Time Permissions

Go to your phone’s settings, then go to Screen Time, then go down to ‘Apps with Screen Time Access’ and toggle the Fitlock setting off then on again.

Do you collect or store any of my data?

Fitlock doesn’t collect personal information about you.

Screen time data is securely managed by Apple and inaccessible to us. Health data is stored only on your device and never externally.

We do collect some app usage analytics through Firebase, so we can see which features get used and fix problems. These analytics are anonymised, so we can’t tell who you are from them. Some app data is also stored with Apple’s CloudKit, and we can’t access personal information from that either.

The one exception is support. If you chat with us through Crisp or email us, we see the name and email address you choose to share, so we can reply. We never sell user data to third-party companies.

Questions about your data? Get in touch through our support page or email hello@fitlock.io.

How do I set up a schedule?
  1. Tap the + button on the Schedules tab.
  2. Choose the apps and websites to block. Fitlock uses Apple’s Screen Time to enforce this, so the block works system-wide.
  3. Set your goal, for example 1,000 steps (free) or 45 minutes of exercise (Fitlock Pro). Pro also lets you combine goals with AND so more than one has to be met.
  4. Choose how much screen time completing the goal earns you.
  5. Pick the days and hours the schedule is active, then tap Confirm.

The schedule starts immediately if you set it to active now.

How do I delete a schedule?
  1. Go to the Schedules tab and tap the schedule you want to remove.
  2. On the schedule’s screen, tap the delete (trash) icon in the top-left of the toolbar.
  3. Confirm by tapping Delete in the alert that appears. This can’t be undone.

Can’t tap delete? If the schedule uses Strict mode and is currently running, the whole screen is locked for editing until that window ends. The button at the bottom will read “Strict mode active” instead of “Confirm,” and the delete icon is greyed out along with everything else. Wait for that day’s scheduled window to end, or, if the schedule unlocks once you hit your goal, complete it for the day. The screen becomes editable again and you can delete the schedule as above.
